Hit-and-run driver arrested
A Dutch driver, who killed a 27-year old woman in Gent in November and then escaped, has been arrested.
The man is thought to have been driving under the influence. He did not exceed the 90 kilometer per hour speed limit. The 25-year old Dutch man drove on, after the accident, to his home in Sas van Gent. Dutch police apprehended him there.
The magistrate in Gent issued a European warrant for arrest, but the man turned himself in at the police in Gent. He was apprehended for involuntary manslaughter, and trying to escape. He will have to appear in court this year.
