He also teaches Dutch jihad fighters how to keep in touch with family in the Netherlands using Skype. In a video footage by Nieuwsuur, Yilmaz was shown shooting and training masked fighters. He was also seen as wearing old army uniform. This is the first time that a Dutch jihad fighter in Syria has shown in an interview. He uploaded his films on Instagram in last months; that account is now closed. In an interview, Yilmaz said that he does not want to return to the Netherlands. “We have come here to die," he said. According to the national security service, some 120 Dutch are fighting in Syria. This month, Foreign Minister Frans Timmermans told the House that a total of 10 Dutch jihadists were killed in the past 10 years in Syria. He also said that 20 jihadists have returned to the Netherlands, and they are being well monitored.
