Police protecting R'dam mayor after threats

The police have increased the security cover for the house of Rotterdam mayor Ahmed Abou Taleb after a threat was made against him last night. Rotterdam mayor Ahmed Abou Taleb / Wikipedia According to a police spokesman, it is still unclear whether the threat comes from, NRC reported. The police are investigating the threat and did not disclose more details. Earlier this month, Abou Taleb and Amsterdam Mayor Eberhard van der Laan decided to continue the ban on away supporters of Ajax Amsterdam and Feyenoord Rotterdam. It is not clear if there is a link between the threat and banning Feyenoord fans at Wednesday's football match between the Feyenoord and Ajax. In 2009, a Feyenoord supporter was arrested for threatening Abou Taleb.
