In 2013, nearly 5900 cases were reported, compared to more than 7,500 cases in 2010, according to the figures obtained by the newspaper using the Freedom of Information Act.
The decrease is mainly due to better cooperation between the police, local authorities and businesses, according to a police spokesman.
Patrolling officers in cities with a lot of violence use a special phone number so they can quickly respond to the problems, the paper said.
The hospitality industry has also taken more responsibility for security in nightlife. Cafe and bar implement stricter door policies, according to the paper.
