More foreign tourists in Netherlands

In 2013, more than 12.7 million foreign tourists visited the Netherlands, a 4% increase compared to 2012, according to the national tourist board. Bikes in Amsterdam / Flickr The NBTC said that many special events in 2013 attracted large number of foreign tourists, including the reopening of the Rijksmuseum and Amsterdam's canals festival. The number of Russian tourists rose by 20% to nearly 200,000, while the number of Chinese tourists increased by 18% to nearly 225,000, Xinhua reported. Last year, foreign tourists accounted for a total of 31.6 million overnight stays, a 7% increase compared to 2012.
