Ten Dutch jihadists killed in Syria

In Syria, a total of 10 Dutch jihadists were killed in the past 10 years, NRC reported. Syria Army Man / Flickr Foreign Minister Frans Timmermans on Thursday told the House that currently nearly 120 Dutch are taking part in the armed struggle in Syria. He also said that 2o jihadists have returned to the Netherlands from Syria. There are some serious concerns about jihad travelers. Timmermans said that jihadists who come back to the Netherlands are being well monitored. Recently, police in The Hague have arrested two people for encouraging a 15-year-old girl to travel to Syria. A press release on politie.nl said that the arrest was prompted after her concerned relatives alerted officers in their community about her plans. The officers spoke to her and her parents in mid-December and were able to convince her not to go. Probing further, police learned that the two suspects had given the girl the money from to travel to the war-stricken Islamic nation. In October 2013, the court in Rotterdam sentenced two men for planning to go to Syria to join the armed struggle.
