One dead in Amsterdam shooting: update

The man who was shot dead Saturday night on the Slauerhoff street in Amsterdam, is a 39-year-old local. He was assassinated.Police detectives are looking for one suspect. It is unknown whether the suspect fled on foot or by car after the shooting. However, witnesses saw a car driving away at high speed.[[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"17358","attributes":{"class":"media-image alignright size-full wp-image-3895","typeof":"foaf:Image","style":"","width":"259","height":"194","alt":"politie"}}]] The shooting occurred around 22:00. The victim died on the scene. Witnesses report hearing multiple shots. The man was reportedly carrying his 1,5-year-old son in his arms when he was shot.     The area was locked down while police investigators combed through the streets in search of the suspect. Around 03:15 the search was seized. The suspect was not found. The police are investigating whether there is a connection with the recent murders in Amsterdam and call on anyone with information to call 0900-8844.
