Police free suspects arrested in Veen town
Police have released the majority of the 100 suspects arrested in the Brabant town of Veen on Monday and early Tuesday for violently attacking officers.
On Thursday, 83 young people were released while nine other were released on Wednesday, Nos reports.
The remaining eight suspects are still in the jail.
On Monday night, police were trying to provide security for firefighters responding to an emergency call when those on the street began launching heavy fireworks at police, and pelting the patrolmen with empty glass bottles.
A squad car was also vandalized during the course of events.
