Recently, Van Gaal had detailed discussions with Spurs Chairman Daniel about his vision for the club. Van Gaal could leave his position as Dutch coach after the World Cup and he could join Spurs afterwards, according to The Mail on Sunday.
Spurs hired Tim Sherwood as head coach this month with an 18-month contract. The club will give Sherwood a chance to demonstrate “what he can do in the main role between now and the end of this season,” Daily Mail reports.
Spurs will then make a final decision about Sherwood’s job and Van Gaal’s hiring. The club will decide whether Van Gaal join the club with Sherwood remains as head coach, or whether the Dutchman will take complete control while Sherwood gets a different role, the paper said.
