Major Storm Misses Most in NL

The Code Yellow storm predicted by meteorologists for Friday missed most of the country, but still thrashed the Zeeland coast with high winds. Gales of up to 93 km/h (58 mph) hit the southern seaside province earlier today. Weather website weeronline.nl says it is unlikely the rest of the Netherlands will see the brunt of the storm today. It would have been the fourth major storm since October 28, and the second in a week. Winds in Great Britain topped 178 km/h (111 mph), causing problems with the roads, railways and electricity grid.
