Deventer fire victims visit homes

On December 20, a large fire in the historic center of Deventer destroyed several apartments. The fire started in a small grill restaurant on the ground floor and quickly spread through three buildings. Residents in Deventer displaced by a fire this week were allowed to return to their homes to assess the damage, the Parool reports quoting Reuters. Nine apartments were damaged on the Grote Overstraat, affecting 15 people who have to stay in temporary housing. Initially, 40 apartments were evacuated as the fire department battled the fire. There will be a meeting at Deventer city hall on Dec. 30 to discuss the fire.
