€11.1 mln shopping on day before Christmas
In the Netherlands, people had spent €11.1 million in store purchases yesterday through 17:00.

By the end of the day, customers were racing to buy food, drinks, gifts and more before the two-day Christmas holiday began.
The amount is similar to last year, and with many stores being open until 18:00 or 19:00 the final tally is estimated to be closer to €11.5 million.
On weekend before Christmas, Dutch shoppers made 15.9 million payments through debit and credit cards, according to Payments Association Netherlands.
According to the organization, 11.8 million debit card payments were made on Saturday, four days before Christmas.
