Marieke Olsthoorn, the woman who founded the fashion chain Oilily, died at the age of 72, the NRC reports.
Oilily
Oilily quickly became popular after it launched children’s clothes in bright colours and patterns. The company grew rapidly, launched clothing for adult women and went global.
In 2000, Oilily was sold to ABN Amro and investment H2 Equity Partners. The company went bankrupt in 2008.
In 2009, Olsthoorn and her husband bought it back.
