Dutch honor Mandela on Leidseplein
A national tribute will be held in Amsterdam, Sunday, to honor Nelson Mandela. The tribute will be held on the day of his funeral, and is an initiative of the Stadsschouwburg, the Melkweg, and ZAM, a magazine about Africa.Various artists will coöperate with the commemoration Sunday, according to the organization. Their names have not yet been disclosed. Mandela's funeral will be broadcast on large screens.

The heart of the memorial will be the Leidseplein, where Mandela addressed a large crowd from the balcony of the Stadsschouwburg, during his first visit to the Netherlands in 1990.
Starting tomorrow, people will have the opportunity to sign a book of condolence in the Stadsschouwburg.
