Search ended for Dutch ship's missing men

A search and rescue was on for the better part of the day, off the coast of Trelleborg in Sweden, for two Filipino sailors who reportedly went overboard on the Dutch freight ship Marietje Andrea, Thursday, around 08:00.The search was abandoned at nightfall, the men were not found. " We have to assume the men are deceased," according to the CEO of Wagenborg Shipping, Albert Engelsman. Wagenborg shipping freighter

The sea was still calm in the morning, even though there was a stiff wind, force 8. The captain heard a scream, to which he immediately responded, and saw the two in the water. He threw out a buoy with a lifeline and sounded the alarm, according to Engelsman. The families of the men have been notified. The news must be devastating to the families, especially since the horrible storm they endured themselves and now they have to deal with this. The men were cousins.
