Nearly half of unemployed over-55s without job

Nearly half of people over 55 who lose their job are not able to find a new one before their benefit runs out, according to employment agency UWV. Old Man / WikipediaThe agency released its findings after studying how many people were able to find a job after their benefit were ended, the Volkskrant reports. The study found that nearly 75% of the total unemployed people had got new job. Currently, unemployment benefits run for a maximum three years. The government wants to reduce entitlement from three years to two years.
