Nearly half of unemployed over-55s without job

Nearly half of people over 55 who lose their job are not able to find a new one before their benefit runs out, according to employment agency UWV. The study found that nearly 75% of the total unemployed people had got new job. Currently, unemployment benefits run for a maximum three years. The government wants to reduce entitlement from three years to two years.
