Cancer survival rate lower in Netherlands than neighboring nations
The Lancet medical journal recently released new figures showing that cancer survival rate in the Netherlands is lower than in many of surrounding countries, the Volkskrant reports.

According to the medical journal, the chances of survival for patients with stomach, kidney, prostate, and lymph nodes cancers for five years is 10% to 20% higher in other countries, the paper said.
A team of international scientists compared the survival rates of more than 10 million cancer patients from 29 European countries. They were diagnosed with cancer between 2000 and 2007.
