Dutch Masters a Hit at NYC's Frick

The Frick Collection museum in New York City is exhibiting masterpieces of Dutch painting. A selection of 15 paintings includes the beloved Girl with a Pearl Earring (c. 1665) by Johannes Vermeer and Carel Fabritius’s exquisite Goldfinch (1654). The Frick show made possible because the Royal Picture Gallery Mauritshuis in The Hague, the Netherlands, is loaning out its treasures during an extensive renovation, The New York Times reports. The Dutch masters of the 17th century draw loyal and obsessive museumgoers who rival those Wagner fanatics who travel the world to hear every “Ring” cycle. Girl with a Pearl Earring / Wikipedia
