The number of people applying for an exemption of their insurances, increased last year by 14 percent. An exemption relieves people from mandatory insurances. The latest statistics of the Ministry of Health's monitor of the insured shows 12,500 people applied for an exemption. The main cause of the rise is thought to be because in March 2011, the Ministry actively starting tracking uninsured, according to the Ministry. Flickr Conscientious objectors can apply for an exemption from the Social Insurance Bank ( SVB ). If the exemption is granted , the objector are also excluded from other insurances, such as fire, property, or damage. In place of the healthcare premium and other insurance premiums, an amount is paid to the IRS, that equals the percentage of the income-related insurance. This alternate tax is saved by the Health Care Insurance Board ( CVZ ) and paid out when the conscientious objector needs care. One reason to ask for exemption may be that taking out insurance conflicts with one's belief or faith. Insurance would go against God's providence . The exemption for conscientious objectors was introduced in 2006 with the new Health Care Act . The number of applications doubled in that year.
