Trijntje Oosterhuis to give generously

Singer Trijntje Oosterhuis finally responded to the overwhelming response to her own Facebook campaign. Even though she doesn't have 200,000 euros to donate, she promises to give generously to the victims of the hurricane in the Philippines. Monday the singer promised to donate one euro to giro 555 for every 'Like' her Facebook message received. Her fans apparently 'Liked' the idea and massively responded. When the number of 'Likes' neared the 200,000 mark, the message disappeared from Facebook and Twitter. Trijntje_Oosterhuis

It is heartwarming to see how people accomplish something big, by massively contributing something, either by donating or 'Liking', stated Oosterhuis. Surely everybody will understand she can not donate 200,000 euros, but she will give generously. In the end, it's about the victims of the disaster who need to build a new life and the relief worker who aid in the process. The Cooperating Aid Organizations ( SHO ) appreciate the gesture of the singer. They believe the singer's initiative was very nicely set up, but the result was a bit overwhelming for her, according to SHO President Van Eeghen. So far Oosterhuis has not yet made a donation, but Van Eeghen nevertheless believes she will give generously. He leaves that entirely up to her. Giro 555 also fully understands Trijntje can not keep her promise. The organization expressed their gratitude for her well-meant initiative in a Twitter message.
