Two dead in canal Groningen

Two young men of 19 and 23 were killed Saturday after their car ended up in the Van Starkenborg canal along the N361 between Groningen and Winsum, announced the Groningen police Sunday. Wouter (19) from Warffum and Martin (23) from Ulrum had been to the city of Groningen in the night from Friday to Saturday, but never made it home. The police started a search by the end of the day Saturday. Around 23:00 five friends of the missing young men who joined the search, found tire tracks on the roadside, leading to the water near the railway overpass on the provincial road to Winsum.
