One killed in A'dam Noord shooting

A 34-year-old man was shot to death Sunday morning in Amsterdam Noord. An ambulance was on scene at the Korte Papaverweg, where the shooting took place at 12:30am. Paramedics were not able to revive the man. Witnesses told Amsterdam broadcaster AT5 they heard several shots, and believe the man was hit five times. He was struck in the head, neck and chest, according to the tv station. Early indications suggest the man was assassinated. Police say they know the victim.
