Children's stamps again raise 11.6 million

The annual Children's Stamp Activity raised just as much money this year as it did last year: 11.6 million euros. 200,000 children went door to door to sell stamps and cards. The orders will be delivered to the buyers, starting Wednesday, announced the foundation behind the initiative Tuesday. This year the stamps feature photos by photographer Anton Corbijn. He previously visited an education project in Ethiopia and photographed children for the stamps. Last year the foundation Kinderpostzegels also raised 11.6 million with the sale of stamps, featuring the princesses Amalia, Alexia, and Ariane. The pictures of the three princesses were taken by their father (then Prince, now King) Willem-Alexander. He took the pictures at home, on the De Horsten estate in Wassenaar.
