Fisherman caught with 7054 pounds of eel

A fisherman who had caught 7054 pounds of eel, was arrested in Friesland Wednesday afternoon. This time of year it is prohibited to fish for eel.In order to protect the eel population it is prohibited to fish for eel from September to November. The professional fisherman wanted to keep the animals alive until November 30 and then sell them. He was arrested along with two other suspects. There is a maximum sentence of six years on keeping eel illegally. The fish were released.
