Solution pupils Ibn Ghaldoun

The students of the Ibn Ghaldoun school in Rotterdam stay together this school year. The group is temporarily registered as a branch of a Christian school. The pupils are taught at their current location. There will be a whole new team of teachers until August 1st next year. The establishment is run by a joint committee, composed of three Rotterdam school boards. The Ibn Ghaldoun permanently closes on November 1st. State Secretary Dekker cut funding, because of the school's poor performance. Mevlana-moskee

It was not desirable to spread the 700 students over 25 to 30 other schools halfway through the year, according to the umbrella organization for Rotterdam school boards, FOKOR. This solution is good for the educational career of the students, and does justice to the choice of parents to choose for Islāmic education, according to FOKOR chairman Littooij. After August 1, a new Islāmic school needs to be established under a new foundation, and a completely new board. A coöperation agreement for this purpose was signed on Wednesday in Rotterdam.
