Dead Didam home explosion were residents

The two corpses, found in the remains of the exploded home Thursday evening, were residents. This became evident from forensic investigation, announced the police on Friday afternoon. It concerned the parents of a family that lived in a Braak detached home. Their two sons of 17 and 19 were at their soccer club at the moment of the explosion. They were first taken in by the police and later by family. It's a very sad situation, reports Mayor Ina Leppink-Schuitema of the Montferland municipality, which falls under Didam, to Omroep Gelderland. home explosion

The investigation may continue into Saturday. The very shocked neighbors were questioned by the police. They state they heard two popping sounds in quick succession. The cause of the explosion is still unknown, but so far there is no sign the residents kept explosive material in their home.
