Rutte counts on last package of cuts
Prime Minister Mark Rutte counts on the Tuesday presented package of six billion in additional spending cuts being the last addition to the coalition agreement. He states this in an interview with written media after the presentation of the 2014 Budget.
He stresses one can never be entirely sure, but thinks it's unlikely the zero baseline for officials will resurface in 2015.
At the same time, in another interview with the media, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, Minister of Finance, stated he can't promise these are the last cuts. He also said that the cabinet will not manage to close this period with a balanced budget. He hopes these kinds of interventions can be considerably lessened or omitted altogether.

http://www.vvd.nl The rising unemployment hangs like a dark cloud over the market. We are in an economic crisis and it seems we have the worst behind us, but we are not out of the woods yet. I sincerely hope the unemployment rate does not rise any further, but I can give no guarantees, reports Rutte in his interview with the media. Dijsselbloem added that the recovery of the Dutch economy depends on political parties working together. The willingness is there, which is why they have a busy fall schedule ahead, so many laws can be treated in the Senate and the House before the year is up. The cabinet issued measures for 6 billion euros in additional cuts to meet European commitments in which the deficit should not be greater than 3 percent of GDP (gross domestic product). The standard will be exceeded again next year, amounting to 3.2 percent. Without the additional cuts the deficit would be 3.9 percent. The debt will rise further next year, to 76.3 percent. According to European agreements it should actually be below 60 percent.
