Reduced greenhouse gas emissions

Greenhouse gas emissions in the Netherlands were nearly 1 percent lower last year than in 2011, reports CBS.The cold winter of 2012 led to the use of more natural gas, but that was offset by lower emissions from cars and less production of electricity. The Netherlands produced less electricity, because more cheap electricity was imported, mainly from Germany, reports the Central Statistical Office (CBS).
