Suspects 'Quote 500-gang' remain silent in court
The main suspects in the so-called Quote 500-gang did not respond to questions from the court in The Hague on Monday.Occasionally a suspect made an effort to deny any involvement in burglaries in the capital villas of wealthy Dutch.
The alleged gang members from the Hague Spoorwijk are accused of burglarizing at least ten villas. The burglaries were based on a list of the richest Dutch, in the magazine Quote. The gang consists of at least 26 people.

Flickr Monday is the first day of trial. Ten suspects will appear in court. In the course of the week, another group of suspects will also stand trial. One of them is a Hague official who provided the gang with addresses. All in all, between November 2010 and October 2012, the gang made many millions booty, according to the OM (Openbaar Ministerie) (Public Prosecutor). The catch consisted mostly of jewelry, brand name purses and gold watches. The case came to light when one of the suspects tried to sell a stolen Rolex on a diamond fair. The police launched an investigation which showed that the gang retrieved addresses from the Quote 500-listed off the internet. They would break in when the residents were home and the alarm was turned off. The only female suspect of the bunch, Cornelia D., alias 'Aunt Cor', played a prominent role. She made her home in the Spoorwijk available so the gang could plan and prepare their burglaries. Her three sons were involved in many of the burglaries. One of her sons, Rocky L, hid a very expensive gold watch in her bedroom, without her knowledge. Because of her passion for collecting things her house got so crowded that she never noticed the watch, she explained to the judge. The Public Prosecutor (OM) is expected to disclose the criminal claims against the main suspects on Tuesday .
