Remembering Van Rijn
Today marks Rembrandt van Rijn’s 407th birthday. In honor of one of the greatest painters of all time, Google posted a picture of Van Rijn on its website.

Rembrandt van Rijn, also an etcher, is considered as one of the best talents in the European art history. He was known to paint portraits during the early parts of his career. His art pieces included self portraits. However, his signature works gradually incorporated biblical themes. Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn in full was born on July 15, 1606 and died on October 4, 1669. His understanding for the human condition earned him the title of "one of the great prophets of civilization.”
