200 Kg Cocaine Westerschelde
A sailing out pilot has found 200 kilos of cocaine in the Westerschelde (Zeeland). The drugs were packed into ten sports bags which were attached with ropes to empty jerrycans, to keep them afloat. This was reported by the National Office of the Public Prosecution (OM) on Tuesday.
The discovery was done on Saturday morning. The drug packages floated in the Westerschelde near Vlissingen. According to the OM, the cocaine has a market value of about 7 million euro.
The police is looking for people who may have seen that the bags were thrown into the water from a passing ship. Witnesses can contact the police in Vlissingen.
