During the two weekends out of their entire stay, they will live with host families in the city so they will be able to experience the local culture. Throughout their time in the Netherlands, communication with their families is prohibited. Gadgets like computers, iPods and mobile phones are not allowed and were left at home; however, the children are permitted to send postcards to their families. Source: bclocalnews
