Ploumen Deplores Decision on Solar Panel Taxes
Dutch Politician Lilianne Ploumen of the Minister for Foreign Trade regrets the European Commission’s decision to demand the anti-dumping levy on solar panels from China, according to financial news site 4-traders.com.
She told EU Commissioner for Trade Karel de Guht that the country is against the plan as Dutch consumers will have to purchase high-priced solar panels. According to Ploumen, solar panels have been in demand for the past few years since Chinese productions are now cheaper. Similarly, the benefits of sustainable solar energy have attracted businesses, private individuals, and installation companies. For the next several months, The European Commission will carry on with its assessment on the final anti-dumping tariff. The Netherlands are working with countries which are fighting for the same cause. Furthermore, Ploumen will initiate a group planning and discussion with several major Dutch firms on July 11.
