European U21 Championship: NL v. DE
Netherlands are all set to face Germany in the 2013 European Championships Under 21 tournament. Midfielder Kevin Strootman is expected to join from Manchester United for the match. Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby will represent Germany.
Holland U21 Manager Cor Pot said that they would rather discuss their team’s qualities rather than talk about Germany’s strong and weak points, according to Eurosport/Yahoo. He said the team believes they will play 4-3-3 at all times. Meanwhile, Germany’s manager Ranier Adrion said their opposing team has great offensive abilities at their disposal and they have a number of good players who are skilled in dribbling and speed. However, they will be less vigilant in their plan of attack. Players in the U21 tournament must be aged 21 or younger at the start of the two-year period leading up to the final match. 23-year-old Twente midfielder Leroy Fer is the most-capped player on the current squad, having played in 27 matches with the U21 squad.
