Dangerous Drugs in NL

The Dutch centre of expertise on mental health and addiction, Trimbos-instituut, warns about the dangerous substance PMMA that they found in samples of powder that is sold as ketamine and MDMA, an ingredient of the popular drug XTC. Nu.nl reported that the institute found the substance five times in a sample of 250 during inspections in Amsterdam and Brabant. Small amounts can lead to very high fever and a larger dose can be fatal. It takes relatively long before users can feel any effect so they often take another dose, thinking that the drug did not work.
