Solved Crime Rate Low
The Dutch bureau of statistics, Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS), presented 2011's crime figures including chances of detection per municipality. The report states that the chance that a burglar gets caught is 11.5 percent in the Netherlands.
The percentage has been between 11 and 12 percent in the last few years, and has not changed much. Furthermore, the real probability of detection is much lower because the CBS only investigated registered crime.
According to RTL.nl, the difference between types of crime is high. For example, the police solved 70 percent of abuse cases against 10.6 percent of hit-and-run cases.
