Utrecht couple Scarlet and Joyce are searching for a sperm donor with a YouTube video. They hope to find a donor that fits them well with the video, as earlier attempts to find a donor through more regular channels mostly  led to weird reactions, AD reports.

The couple is very active on social media, where they share a lot about their personal lives and the daily challenges they face. Their YouTube channel Ik Vrouw Van Jou has more than 41 thousand subscribers. They therefore decided to share this call with their followers.

Minister Edith Schippers of Public Health is calling on anonymous sperm donors to make themselves known so that the children they fathered can find them. "Did you donate sperm and see how incredibly it affects people's lives if they do not know who there father is?" the Minister said, according to ANP. "Then you can do a second incredibly good deed by just making yourself known."

Sperm donors across the world are increasingly losing their anonymity due to commercial DNA databases. For the first time a donor child in the Netherlands managed to track down her biological father through one such database. She set up a foundation to help other children of anonymous donors do the same, the Volkskrant reports.

The sperm bank in the Rijnstate hospital in Arnhem was caught breaking Dutch rules by using the sperm of 15 donors too often. These 15 donors fathered a total of 548 children with 369 women, meaning that each man fathered an average of 36 children. That's way above the Dutch limit of 25 children per donor. One man even fathered 50 children, the Volkskrant reports based on a report from the Healthcare Inspectorate.

Parents and kids born from donors at former fertility clinic Bijdorp Medical Center in Barendrecht want the court to order that a DNA sample be taken from now deceased doctor Jan Karbaat. They want the DNA to find out for sure whether Karbaat was the donor who fathered the kids, AD reports.

The parents and children were involved in a lawsuit against Karbaat. He died a month before the case went to trial.
