Some 27 million euros worth of gold ended up in the trash in 2012, Statistics Netherlands reported on Friday in its publication Green Growth in the Netherlands 2015. The gold was in parts of discarded electrical appliances.
All KLM passengers flying within Europe will now have to start paying extra fees for bringing check-in baggage onto flights. Previously, Ivory Flying Blue members were exempted from this ruling, but from the 1st of October, they will also have to pay.
