The Dutch government is preparing a possible evacuation for the few hundred Dutch in Venezuela. The South-American country is in the midst of a massive crisis and there is hardly any food or medicine available. Angry Venezuelans have been demonstrating against the government for weeks, during which 42 people have been killed and hundreds others injured, RTL Nieuws reports.

The National Police wants to improve the manner in which it selects officers deployed to crisis situations, according to an internal assessment by the police about the MH17 disaster newspaper AD got hold of. Some of the police officers put on the MH17 case were too inexperienced or turned out not to be suitable for work in a disaster area, the assessment said, according to the newspaper.

Prices of homes in the capital, Amsterdam, have risen by 18 percent in the past two years. Amsterdam is also the only one of large cities in the Netherlands to be above pre-crisis level in the number of homes sold - in the first three quarters of this year 18 percent more houses were sold than in the same period in 2017

The Netherlands’ economic contribution for development cooperation has been labelled an embarrassment by Oxfam Novib according to a calculation done by the organization. The calculation has revealed that the Netherlands is no longer meeting the UN’s spending target, 0.7 percent of the country’s GDP, for poverty reduction, the Volkskrant reported on Thursday.

Dozens of adults and children were injured Sunday at an automotive event when a driver lost control of his monster truck, crashing into the attendees gathered at the function in Haaksbergen, Overijssel.
