A 35-year-old Eindhoven man arrested for lighting a smoke bomb at the PSV vs Ajax match this weekend, apologized via his lawyer Bas Ruijters. According to the lawyer, his client regrets lighting the smoke bomb. Two fans and a police officer were injured around the Europa League quarter final match between Ajax and Schalke 04 at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on Thursday, the German police said in a statement. There were also 129 arrests and charges filed against 49 people.

The police arrested five people in a operation against drug trafficking in and around the Grolsch Veste stadium in Enschede during an Eredivisie match between FC Twente and PSV on Thursday night, NU.nl reports.
Three people were arrested in the supporters' home at Block P - the block for fanatical FC Twente supporters - and two were arrested outside the stadium. Drugs were found in the supporters' home, a spokesperson for the police said to NU.nl. The police also searched three homes and found several fake weapons.

A study by RTL last year revealed that LGBT athletes aren't always open about their sexuality. The SCP study revealed that when they are, they generally feel accepted. Lesbians, gays and bisexuals are generally well accepted, according to the SCP.
Tarek Karboutli, former goalkeeper of the national team of Syria, fled war in his country and applied for asylum in the Netherlands. Football team AFC immediately invited him to train with them, AT5 reports.
