Geert Wilders announced Tuesday morning that Louis Bontes has been kicked out of the group of PVV in the House. Earlier on Tuesday told the press that he hoped that he could stay as a member of the PVV group.

The PVV leader said that he thinks that the decision to kick Bontes out of the PVV group is a ‘sad moment’. “It is OK to criticize and people within PVV can do that every day. Using the press to blow things up and do some back stabbing, we can’t appreciate.”

Minister Lilianne Ploumen of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, will visit Kenya this week. The trade mission to Kenya is seen as a good example how development aid can be changed by trade.

The focus of this weeks trade mission which will last from Monday till Thursday, will be on infrastructure and agriculture. Together with the minister 25 Dutch companies will join the trip. They will visit, among other things, the harbor in Mombasa, where a new container terminal will be built, and a flower growing project.

The people in Noord Brabant are worried about flights with nuclear weapons to and from the air base in Volkel. The Provincial Environment Committee (POC) shares the worries of the citizens and is not sure if the province government has a full view on all the possible risks.

It is unofficially known, by word of former Prime Ministers Lubbers and van Agt, that the air base in Volkel stores nuclear weapons. At the Brabant air base there are probably 10 to 20 nuclear bombs. They are scheduled for modernization in 2017.

Prime Minister Mark Rutte has no clues if he has been monitored by the NSA. He announced that on Thursday in Brussels where he is attending the Euro Top. 

On Thursday the news came out that Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany has been monitored by the NSA. She was very angry about this.

Rutte says that if this is true, it is a very serious matter. We will have to investigate this thoroughly and take steps according to the outcome. Especially among allies it is important to find out what exactly happened.

Henk Westbroek is not going to be the new mayor of Utrecht. This was told to him by the municipal office of Utrecht on Wednesday. The reason for their decision is that Westbroek does not have enough management experience.

The Algemeen Dagblad (AD) in cooperation with the Utrechts Nieuwsblad did a poll about who is the most favorite for the job. In the beginning of October, the singer and presenter, was the most favorite among the readers of the AD. He received 28% of the readers’ votes.

Netherlands supports the German plan to give the larger countries a leading position within the NATO. Smaller countries can then, together with a coordinating bigger country, work out certain military projects or for instance buy a tanker aircraft together. Basically it is a new form of cooperation within the NATO.

PVV MP Louis Bontes wants more democracy within the PVV. He wants to stay a member of the PVV and  PVV MP and doesn’t think about leaving the party.

Last week Bontes hit the news by stopping as a board member of the group of PVV in the House. Besides Bontes, Fleur Agema, Martin Bosma and PVV leader Geert Wilders formed the board. Bontes stepped away from the board because he didn’t want to be responsible, as treasurer, for the expenses. Money which the group in the House receives for their work and which is meant for making their work possible, is used for other party activities.

Prime Minister Mark Rutte has called on Monday, Russian president Vladimir Poetin to emphasize the good relationship between the two countries. During the conversation both sides have confirmed to each other that the recent incidents have to be solved, so the focus can be on the future, according to the RVD in a press communication. Both Rutte and Poetin have mentioned that they have the intention to finish the Netherlands-Russia year successfully.

According to the weekly poll of Maurice de Hond, D66 would have 21 virtual seats. That are 9 seats more than D66 now occupies in the House.

D66 was one of the three constructive opposition parties, who helped the government to a solution for the budget of 2014.

While D66 won in this poll, the largest party in the House, VVD, lost again one seat opposite the poll of last week. The liberals would now occupy only 19 seats while they occupy in real 41 seats in the House.

European Commissioner Ollie Rehn (Economical Affairs and Euro) has lauded the Netherlands for the budget agreement, the agreement of government and opposition on the budget of 2014.

Rehn praised the Netherlands at the meeting of the Euro Group, the group of 17 Finance ministers of Europe, which was held in Luxembourg on Monday. He even advised the politicians at the other side of the Atlantic ‘to go Dutch’.

Both unions FNV and CNV accept the changes in the Social Agreement, which follow from the budget agreement of last Friday evening. 

FNV chairman Ton Heerts says that he is not happy with the way how the agreement was ‘violated’. “What good does it make to have an agreement, which after a couple of months is on the table again. Are we going to see changes again around Christmas?”

Sigrid Kaag, a Dutch woman who at this moment works as assistant secretary general for the development program of the UN, is appointed to lead the disarmament mission of the UN in Syria.

The chemical weapons of Syria have to be destroyed. This was agreed by the US, Russia and Syria around half September.

 

The UN will cooperate in this mission with the OPWC, an organisation which is active with the forbidding of chemical weapons. OPWC is situated in The Hague.

RTL Nieuws sources stated that the State Secretary of Justice and Security will soon announce that he will not allow Volkert G. to go on leave.

Teeven thinks that Volkert G. must be prepared on his release within the walls of the prison. Next year, May 2014, the murderer of Pim Fortuyn will be released after finishing two third of his sentence.

The decision of Teeven is based on social upheaval and the safety for Volkert G. and his family.

Volkert G. has the possibility to go in appeal and force in that way his leave.
