Horizon Zero Dawn by Dutch game studio Guerrilla Games is not even out yet and already its getting international acclaim. All major international gaming sites, ranging from Polygon to Giant Bomb, rated the game with 9s and 10s. "This is quite unique", game journalist Jan Meijroos said to RTL Nieuws.

Guerrilla Games is by far the largest Dutch game studio with about 250 people working at its Amsterdam offices. The company is best known for shooters like Killzone.

The Aalborg Hotel in Amsterdam, which turned nine of its rooms into the Arcade Hotel last year, will soon convert all of its rooms into gaming rooms due to the massive demand. Soon guests in all rooms will be able to play games from consoles in the rooms or sign up to the hotel network for LAN parties, Het Parool reports.

Carnival group De Lolmaakers in Leende decided not to participate in this year's carnival parades on Saturday. On Thursday the police discovered a massive drug lab on the property where they were building their float. As they are not allowed on the crime scene, De Lolmakers won't be able to finish their float in time for the parade.

The Dutch government is implementing stricter rules for very high salaries that are paid with tax money, such as those of presenters for public broadcasters or managers in healthcare. From now on workers in the public and semi-public sector may no longer earn more money than Ministers, Minister Ronald Plasterk of Home Affairs announced on Friday, ANP reports.

Justin Bieber will be performing at Pinkpop this year. The Canadian singer is listed as one of the headliners of the three-day festival and will go on stage on June 3rd, the organizers announced on Wednesday, NU.nl reports. 

The Pinkpop performance forms part of Bieber's Purpose World Tour.

Bieber is the third headliner announced for the festival, which will take place on June 3rd, 4th and 5th in Landgraaf, Limburg. Other performances this year include Green Day, System of a Down, Kings of Leon and Martin Garrix.

She was born with both male and female sexual characteristics, and on the doctor's advice her parents decided to "make" her a girl with surgery and hormone treatments, she said in an interview with the Volkskrant.

A Christmas party for the Nijmegen police last month ended with police officers passed out and "urinating in sinks", according to an internal email in which a police team leader calls his colleagues to order, which the Gelderlander managed to get hold of. 

"We issued a card that does not fit with our position iin the Nijmegen society", the email reads. "How can we as independent law enforcement enter a bar tomorrow and call others on their behavior."

The Netherlands' healthcare system is the best in Europe, according to the annual index by Swedish Health Consumer Powerhouse. The Netherlands has been number in Europe on this index since 2008, the Telegraaf reports.

Powerhouse compares accessibility, cost, treatment outcome and use of medicine for their ranking. This year the Netherlands scored 927 out of the possible 1,000 points. Improvements were seen in shorter waiting lists.

Musician Nathan Dillen was give a 380 euro fine for making music on a train from Amsterdam to his hometown of Kampen on Friday, RTL Nieuws reports.

The musician was heading home on the train with his brother when some fellow travelers asked if he would play them something on his clarinet. He did so with pleasure and, according to a friend on Facebook, the other passengers seemed to appreciate the music.

Canadian rapper Drake is in Amsterdam, and he is not letting his visit go by unnoticed. This weekend he dropped in at a Bar Mitzvah celebration and did a surprise show with Rae Sremmurd in the Melkweg, AT5 reports.

On Saturday night the rapper was spotted at a Bar Mitzvah party in the Amstel Hotel with Jamie Foxx. And on Sunday night the audience in the Melkweg went through the roof when Drake suddenly walked on stage during the Rae Sremmurd performance. He performed Fake Love and Jumpman, according to the local broadcaster.
