Child's body found in search for missing boy, 10

The police found the body of a child on Friday morning while searching for a missing 10-year-old boy in recreation area Het Hulsbeek in Overijssel. The identity of the young victim is still being confirmed, the police said, ANP reports.

The boy went missing on Thursday. His bicycle was found in a parking lot at a lake in the area, located near Oldenzaal. Emergency services responded en masse to search for the boy, who cannot swim.

According to newspaper Tubantia, Het Hulsbeek was evacuated for the search. A helicopter was deployed to help search for the boy.

This is the second time this month that a body is taken from the recreational lake. Three weeks ago, a 20-year-old man drowned in the lake.
