Dead body found in train bathroom at Amsterdam station; Police investigating

A person was found dead on the toilet of a train at Amsterdam Central Station on Thursday afternoon, the Amsterdam police announced on Twitter.

The person was found on an intercity direct, which arrived at Amsterdam Central Station from Breda and Rotterdam around 1:00 p.m., according to Het Parool.

The person has not yet been identified. The cause of death is also still unclear. The police conducted an investigation in the train. Track 14 is closed for the investigation.

NS believes that the consequences of the closed rail for train traffic can be limited. The intercity direct train on that route is departing from another platform.
