Dutchman accused of planning terrorist attack in London
Dutch man Aweys F. is in custody in London on suspicion of planning for a terrorist attack in the city. The 37-year-old man appeared in court on Wednesday, AD reports.
F. was arrested last week, about to board a flight to Istanbul. The British authorities believe that he was planning to join terrorist organization ISIS in Syria. The 37-year-old man has been living in the United Kingdom since 2013. He was born in Somalia, but has Dutch citizenship. In court he confirmed his name, but would say nothing else, according to the newspaper.
According to the Prosecutor, F. is also connected to another terrorism investigation centered on an attack planned in London. His name and other details were found in a laptop that was confiscated in the investigation. F.s arrest is not connected to a terrorist attack in Manchester last week, the prosecutor said.
His next hearing is scheduled for June 9th.
F. lives in Tottenham, in the northern parts of London. He has a wife and five children in the Netherlands and another wife and child in Ghana, according to AD.
