Young man found dead on Eindhoven street
The body of a man was found on Memlincstraat in Eindhoven early on Sunday morning, the police confirmed in a statement. The man was shot to death. The police did not say anything about the victim's identity, but according to Omroep Brabant, he is a 32-year-old man whose girlfriend lives on the street.
The police responded to the scene around 6:00 a.m. after reports of a wounded or dead man lying on the street next to a car. The victim was already dead when emergency services arrived.
A large-scale investigation team was established, with 20 detectives on the case. The police closed down the area for a forensic investigation. Police officers also visited homes and questioned local residents about whether they saw anything suspicious. A police helicopter photographed the area from the air.
Family members of the victim could be seen on the street on Sunday morning, according to Omroep Brabant.
