Motorist crashes into Breda King's night revelers; three injured
A 25-year-old motorist from Prinsenbeek was arrested on King's Night for crashing into three pedestrians in Breda and then driving off. An 18-year-old man from Glize and a 20-year-old man from Hoogerheide were taken to hospital for treatment. The third, a 21-year-old from Etten-Leur, sustained minor injuries, the police said in a statement.
The motorist sped away after hitting the pedestrians, but the police were able to track him down. He was arrested in a parking lot in Etten-Leur shortly after the incident. A breathalyzer test revealed that the he had too much to drink.
The accident happened around 3:00 a.m. on Thursday morning. The motorist is facing charges of attempted manslaughter or murder and leaving the scene of an accident.
