Report: Victim runs armed robber over with delivery van; one dead

An armed robbery in a home on Limburgsingel in Arnhem left one person dead on Thursday night. According to the Gelderlander, the victim of the armed robbery ran the robber over with a van, killing him.

The owner of Cafeteria Snackattack told the newspaper that an employee went to deliver an order to the address on Limburgsingel and arrived to find a robbery in progress. The delivery man fled when he heard shots. The angry victims took the pizza delivery van and chased the robber, according to the owner. During the chase, the robber fired several shots at the van. The van hit the armed robber, who was so seriously injured that he died, the owner said.

In a statement on their website, the police only say that there was an armed robbery on Limburgsingel in which shots were fired. The robbery was reported around 9:30 p.m. At the scene officers found a dead man. His identity has not yet been confirmed. The police are investigating.

According to the Telegraaf, a white van belonging to Lunchroom Jimmy, a branch of Snackattack, could be seen on the street. It is visibly damaged and there is a big crack in the windshield.
