Amsterdam restaurant closed down after shooting
Restaurant Greenhouse Kitchen on Haarlemmerstraat in Amsterdam was closed down by order of Mayor Eberhard van der Laan following a shooting at the restaurant early on Monday morning. The restaurant is closed indefinitely "in the interest of public order", according to the notice stuck to its door, AD reports.
"A shooting in a residential neighborhood, in which the motives are unclear and recurrence apparently can't be ruled out, puts the safety of residents and passersby in serious danger and affects public order", the notice reads. "Based on the severity of thesese facts, the mayor decided to close the shop immediately and indefinitely due to serious threat for the public order."
Closing the restaurant follows the same trend as in seven previous shootings at coffeeshops in the city over the past year. The restaurant Greenhouse Kitchen is located next door to coffeeshop The Greenhouse. You can't buy soft drugs at the restaurant, but were allowed to use them there.
