Rijksmuseum bike tunnel to host free Amsterdam Dance Event show
The Amsterdam Dance Event will include a very special performance this year. Amsterdam DJ Meceo Plex will play one show, for free, in the bicycle tunnel under the Rijksmuseum, Het Parool reports.
Maceo Plex is known for his own music, but also for making remixes of music by Depeche Mode and The Rolling Stones. The Rijksmuseum invited hi to come hear original recordings of various musical instruments form its own collection.
Using those pieces of classical music as inspiration, the DJ put together a four hour set for the ADE.
This is the first time the Rijksmuseum is participating as a location in the ADE. According to the museum, this opportunity fits closely with "the museum's desire to provide visitors a new way to experience art".
Due to the limited space, a level of exclusivity was added to the event. Fans do not have to buy tickets, but they have to register for a lottery. Registration opens today, Oct 11th, and closes at midnight on October 18th. Those who won tickets will be notified the next day.
